Skills used: Brand alignment, Website design, Front-end Development
The redesign of Medialayer.com was a significant effort that I were fortunate to be a part of. My design and user experience expertise aided in the development of the new site.
My client turned friend, Gurpreet Virdi was the soul of the company. He lived and breathed his business.
I was approached in 2014 to do some small projects for Medialayer, then later I were asked to tackle the full site.
I helped with content, re-imagining the brand, produced wireframes, tweaked the user journey and created exceptional design work. I also developed the front-end so it worked great on multiple devices.
The day I had finished this tremendous project and set up environments for presentation, was the day I received some news that Gurpreet passed away, just 2 days earlier from someone who put us in touch with each other.
Our heartfelt condolences go out to his friends and family, and although the company has been shut down, this work won’t see the light of day, but I’d like to showcase what I accomplished, as a remembrance for my friend.
In the concept above, I co-ordinated the planning of the 3D Modal which was created by a good friend of mine. I then proceeded with some photo manipulation work to set it apart on the Medialayer Homepage.
Here’s a birds eye view of some of the page designs that I created…
When I do the front-end development of any website, I like to create little walkthrough videos if a project consists of multiple pages. To get a view of the interactions and the overall experience. Check it out in action…
One of the earlier projects I tackled for MediaLayer was a custom made administration system. Users would be able to seamlessly manage their hosting setup from billing, dns, optional plugins, support requests and even monitoring their server against traffic / bandwidth, and opting early to grow the server if needed.
